Snow Fun

Today Brad and I got outside to have some fun in the snow. We finally had a good snow storm that dumped 22 inches of snow in one night. So while Daddy was off helping Grandma, Brad and I headed outside. I originally wanted to build a snowman with him, but the snow was much heavier than I thought and much deeper. In the end, we weren't able to roll the snowballs big enough for a snowman. We decided then to make a snow fort. Apparently I wasn't doing that right, because when Daddy got home, he took over the making of the fort. Brad was excited to finally have a snow fort. As he said, "I've waited all winter for this!" I then had this great idea to fill up spray bottles with water and food coloring and color the snow. Brad was loving it! So if you happen to drive by my house and see the blue, green and red snow, you know what we've been doing!

Snow Day

I can't believe it, we finally had our first snow day! I find it hard to believe that we live in Syracuse, NY, the snow belt capital, and have not even had one snow day until today. We are currently under a winter snow storm advisory and have no unnecessary travel for the county. By the time that this storm is over, we are expected to receive up to 18 inches of snow. And I am loving it! I have been a bit jealous of the snow storms that my brother has been getting in Maryland and we finally have one here! Brad was excited to go out and shovel the snow and is asking when can he make a snow fort. Hopefully this weekend we will be able to do the snow fort, or at least make an awesome snowman!

Happy Valentine's Day

Ok--so I am a little behind on my posts again! What can I say? So last week I got to go to Brad's class and have a Valentine's Day party with them. It was so cute to see all the kids go through their Valentines and see who gave them what. It amazed me that these pre-schoolers could read each of their friends names! After they opened their Valentines, they got to have a wonderful snack before leaving for the day. These teachers know what they are doing, they waited until the end of the day to give them their candy snacks!!

On Friday before Valentine's Day, I received this beautiful bouquet of stargazer lillies at work. They were totally unexpected! Brian did a wonderful job. They are one of my favorite flowers. What a great Valentine's day we all had!

Bass Pro Shop

Gramona and Pop took Brad to the Bass Pro Shop to do a little shopping. Of course, as soon as Brad saw all the boats, he had to "test drive" every single one of them! The first thing he did was put the throttle all the way down and make motor noises! This kid has a little bit of Uncle Dave in him! When I asked Brad what his favorite boat was, he said the speed boat. Of course, not the boat that Pop just bought!

After test driving all the boats, Brad got to pick out his first Zebco fishing pole. He just loves fishing and can't wait for it to be summer so he can use his new pole and bobbers at camp. Brad told me that some day he will be big enough to go to camp in the winter and go ice fishing with the guys! I think that he will have to wait quite a few more years for that!
